"Hard to Accept This Sudden Farewell"
Miho, a popular Siberian tiger at Seouldaegongwon, has died.
On the 20th, Seouldaegongwon issued a notice stating, "We have had to say an all-too-sudden farewell to Miho, a Siberian tiger who was a precious member of the Seouldaegongwon family."
According to the park, Miho was born on June 6, 2013, and lived at Seouldaegongwon for 13 years. The park said, "He guarded the big-cat enclosure and, with his ever-beautiful appearance, moved and delighted many citizens like a son," adding, "Above all, he loved people and was very affectionate, always coming up to us first, making eye contact and greeting us. He was a special tiger who enjoyed bonding with people."
Miho is believed to have died after fighting with another tiger. The park said, "Miho left us after a conflict broke out with another individual," and emphasized, "Even now, when it is hard to accept this sudden farewell, the warm moments Miho gave us will long remain in our hearts."
The park will operate memorial spaces until March 1 near the animal memorial monument by the South America Pavilion and in the big-cat enclosure where Miho lived. A separate memorial space has also been set up on the park's official website.
The park added, "The time and precious memories that (Miho) shared with us will endure for a long time," and continued, "We hope Miho will live on warmly in the memories of many people, and we wish him peaceful rest."
Miho was born to Rostov and Penza, Siberian tigers owned by Seouldaegongwon.
