Korea Management Association (Executive Vice President Choi Kwonseok, hereafter KMA) and the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center recently announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen the capabilities of self-sufficiency enterprises in the Gangwon region and to revitalize their business activities. This agreement is significant in that the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, which has accumulated operational experience and networks in the self-sufficiency field in Gangwon, and KMA, which has been providing practical solutions based on its expertise in management, organization, and capability development, will work together to build a cooperative system that can sustainably support the growth and independence of self-sufficiency enterprises.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will promote jointly planned programs that reflect the characteristics and needs of the self-sufficiency field in Gangwon, and they plan to gradually expand various cooperation models such as management consulting to enhance the execution capabilities of self-sufficiency enterprises, human resources capability development, forums, and promotional initiatives.

In particular, the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center will be responsible for the execution framework, including identifying on-site issues, discovering participating enterprises, and providing operational support, based on its collaboration foundation with self-sufficiency enterprises and related organizations within Gangwon Province. Korea Management Association will play a role on the solutions side by providing specialized content to strengthen the competitiveness of self-sufficiency enterprises, supporting program design and operation, and building systems to disseminate outcomes.

In addition, the two organizations agreed on principles for operating a responsible cooperative partnership, including systematically managing joint performance assets such as operational data and project information identified in the course of project implementation, and adhering to confidentiality principles regarding the information provided.

Lee Kyunghee, Director of the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, said, "This agreement is a starting point for more precisely reflecting the on-site needs of self-sufficiency enterprises and for strengthening the execution foundation so that self-sufficiency projects can grow into 'sustainable businesses.' We will provide substantial support for the growth and independence of self-sufficiency enterprises in Gangwon through field-centered cooperative operations."

Kim Byunghyun, Executive Director of KMA, said, "The on-site expertise and network held by the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center are core assets for fostering self-sufficiency enterprises. Based on the practical solution capabilities that KMA has accumulated in the fields of education and consulting, we will systematically promote joint models so that self-sufficiency enterprises in Gangwon can grow into business entities with strong competitiveness."

Meanwhile, the Gangwon Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, as a central organization for regional self-sufficiency projects, has been carrying out the discovery of self-sufficiency enterprises and providing support for their growth, while Korea Management Association has been implementing various projects as a specialized institution that supports sustainable growth and innovation through talent development, organizational innovation, and management consulting for the public sector and industrial sites.
