Haenam County Ranks 'Top' for Second Straight Year in Interior Ministry Information Disclosure Evaluation

Proactive information disclosure accelerates "communication," driving higher satisfaction with county administration

Haenam County in South Jeolla Province has been honored by being selected for the second consecutive year as a top-rated institution in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2025 Information Disclosure Comprehensive Evaluation." Observers say this once again externally proves the county's efforts to ensure transparent county administration and to guarantee residents' right to know.

According to Haenam County on the 19th, this comprehensive evaluation reviewed the overall operation of the information disclosure system at 561 major public institutions nationwide, including central government agencies, local governments, and public corporations.

In this evaluation, Haenam County achieved balanced results across 12 indicators in 5 categories: prior information disclosure, original document disclosure, request processing, customer management, and system operation, earning a total score of 91.6 points. This far exceeds the national average of 84.78 points for basic local governments, and the county was highly praised as the local government that best embodied the purpose of the information disclosure system.

In particular, it drew attention by earning perfect scores on key quantitative indicators such as the number of registered prior information disclosure items and its performance in analyzing customer needs. In addition, it received high marks in items measuring the qualitative level of information disclosure processing, including the completeness of original information and the compliance rate in handling disclosure requests.

A county official said, "Information disclosure is a key element in enhancing the transparency and credibility of county administration," adding, "We will continue to substantively guarantee residents' right to know and realize trusted administration through proactive information disclosure."
