The Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Nonghyup announced on the 19th that it had designated the entire period leading up to the Lunar New Year holiday as an intensive livestock quarantine management period and had carried out step-by-step quarantine activities on all fronts to block the inflow of contagious livestock diseases.

On February 13, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, Jeonnam Nonghyup conducted a quarantine awareness campaign in the plaza in front of Gwangju Songjeong Station, distributing leaflets to homebound travelers to encourage them to refrain from visiting livestock farms and to comply with basic quarantine guidelines.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, Jeonnam Nonghyup urgently organized joint quarantine teams operated by local livestock cooperatives within cities and counties, and simultaneously mobilized large-scale disinfection equipment owned by Nonghyup to establish and operate a special quarantine system at the level of the entire Nonghyup network, concentrating all capabilities to minimize any gaps in quarantine.

In addition, on the 19th, after the holiday, in the Seokgok-myeon area of Gokseong County in Jeonnam, Jeonnam Nonghyup, local agricultural and livestock cooperatives in Gokseong, and the Livestock Division of Gokseong County Office jointly carried out on-site inspections of the quarantine activities of the "Pan-Nonghyup Livestock Disease Control Team" and conducted intensive disinfection of roads near farms using large-scale disinfection equipment owned by Seokgok Nonghyup.

Lee Gwangil, head of Jeonnam Nonghyup, said, "At a time when the risk of various livestock diseases occurring is constantly present, the holiday period, when there is a lot of movement, is the most critical time for quarantine management," adding, "We will strengthen our step-by-step response, from advance publicity to continuous disinfection during the holiday and intensive inspections after the holiday, to thoroughly block the inflow of livestock diseases."
