Sk Telecom CEO Jung Jaeheon: "We Must Build the Capabilities the Company Needs in the AI Era"

Emphasizing "Change" at Meetings with New Employees and Team Leaders

Jung Jaeheon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of SK Telecom, urged, "In the great tide of the AI Transformation (AX), I ask each and every one of you to take ownership as members of a dream team and lead SK Telecom's change."

According to the SK Telecom newsroom on the 19th, Jung spent two days, the 5th and 6th, meeting with new employees and newly appointed team leaders and called on them to "stand at the center of change, uphold the basics and principles, and grow together."

After listening to presentations by the new employees, Jung said, "When a downhill stretch ends, a higher peak will follow," and added, "I hope you will overcome difficulties wisely, and when you reach higher ground, remain humble and take time to look back."

In response to questions about the AX transition and related topics, Jung said, "Your seniors know well the direction and solutions for the work, but you may be more familiar with new tools such as artificial intelligence (AI)," and urged, "Please take the initiative in actively proposing directions by making use of new tools."

He went on to say, "The virtue that office workers must have is 'change,'" adding, "The company should help its members work in a stable environment, and members must acquire the capabilities the company needs in the AI era."

When asked how to build a structure that allows the telecommunications business to last for a long time, he replied, "Telecommunications networks are the core infrastructure that supports the AI era," and once again stressed that "the essence of our business is the 'customer.'"

Jung also presented three qualities that members should possess: "overwhelming capabilities," "sharing the same philosophy," and "a solid life." He added, "Let us strive, through accelerating AX, to achieve our ultimate goal of the company's sustainable growth and development."
