Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, strongly condemned People Power Party leader Jang Donghyuk's move to block real estate reform policies, calling it an attempt to "protect vested interests."
In a post uploaded to his social media on the 18th, Governor Kim said, "President Lee Jaemyung is working tirelessly, saving every second, to stabilize the real estate market," adding, "It is deeply displeasing to see the party leader (People Power Party leader Jang Donghyuk), who owns multiple homes, putting the brakes on real estate reform."
He went on to say, "In the eyes of the public, this can only be seen as an attempt to protect vested interests," and criticized, "It is especially regrettable that the conduct of the main opposition People Power Party, which consistently takes an attitude closer to criticism and pettiness rather than cooperating with the President's real estate policies, is so disappointing."

He also added, "Real estate reform is not a policy of a particular administration, but a national task for the future of the Republic of Korea," and noted, "Japan entered its 'lost 30 years' after the collapse of its real estate bubble."
He lamented, "If we do not act now, we too could follow the same path," and said, "There are still forces that are holding back reform."
Governor Kim pledged, "As the President's 'No. 1 partner in state affairs,' Gyeonggi Province will provide even firmer support to the President."
