President Lee Jaemyung said, "The time has come to change the Republic of Korea," adding, "Whether it is overcoming the real estate republic, building a safe and peaceful country, creating a fair and rational world, or making a nation that can grow and develop, I will cast off all fear, treasure every single moment, and pour my heart and soul into this."

President Lee: Lunar New Year SNS Message - "Now All That Remains Is an All-Out Sprint... I Will Treasure Every Single Moment and Give My All"

Beginning his remarks by saying, "In this new year of hope, I wish all of you the fulfillment of your wishes," President Lee wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on the afternoon of the 17th, "I have come this far carrying only one wish in my heart, crossing countless valleys of death, and now that the opportunity has finally arrived, why would I not do this most urgent task?" He went on to say, "Thanks to the grace of the people, my wish has come true," adding, "Now all that remains is an all-out sprint."

President Lee also said, "I, too, had a wish," and continued, "My earnest wish was to ensure that the dark and tangled world I have lived in is not passed on to anyone, to build a proper world where neither I nor my family, neighbors, nor anyone else in this world suffers from any injustice or unfairness, and where no one can unjustly take what belongs to others."

He also recalled the appeal he made to citizens when he ran for mayor of Seongnam 20 years ago. President Lee wrote, "I did not become president just for the sake of becoming president," explaining, "It is because there was something I wanted to do with the authority of the presidency." He then included in his message the words he spoke 20 years ago, when he ran for mayor of Seongnam and bowed low before citizens: "I need not power, but the authority to work."

At the end of his message, President Lee concluded by writing, "To all the people I deeply respect, let us join hands firmly and together build a country where everyone can be happy," and, "Thank you. I love you."
