"A Warm Lunar New Year Holiday of Caring and Sharing Together"
Jangsu County announced on the 12th that it will implement a "Comprehensive Lunar New Year Holiday Plan" so that residents can enjoy a safe and fulfilling five-day Lunar New Year holiday, covering prices, livelihoods, and safety, from the 14th to the 18th.
To create a "Warm Lunar New Year Holiday of Caring and Sharing Together," Jangsu County plans to closely cooperate with related organizations such as Jangsu Police Station and Jangsu Fire Station to operate a comprehensive situation room.
This comprehensive plan focuses on flawless operations from pre-holiday inspections to emergency response during the holiday period by preparing 12 detailed implementation measures across six areas: comprehensive situation management, disaster management, price stabilization, civil complaints related to daily life, road traffic, and medical and livestock quarantine.
To this end, Jangsu County will organize six task teams, including the comprehensive situation room, as well as situation teams for daily-life civil complaints in each town and township during the holiday period, and will deploy 150 public officials on emergency duty to prevent various incidents and accidents and to promptly handle any inconveniences experienced by residents.
To minimize any gaps in medical services, the emergency room at Jangsu County Public Health and Medical Center will continue to operate 24 hours a day as usual, and the operating status of nine local medical institutions and pharmacies will be posted on the county office website and social media.
In addition, to stabilize prices, the county has designated a special price stabilization period through the 18th and is focusing on managing key Lunar New Year items by operating a comprehensive price stabilization situation room.
At the same time, the disaster management task team is concentrating on pre-holiday inspections of areas vulnerable to disasters in order to prevent various disasters and calamities, making every effort to ensure the safety of residents and returning visitors.
The daily-life civil complaints task team plans to minimize inconvenience for residents by announcing waste collection days for each town and township in advance to prevent the accumulation of household and food waste and confusion in collection during the holiday period, and by ensuring the stable supply of public services such as gas, electricity, and water and sewage.
In particular, the road traffic task team will carry out pre-holiday inspections and preventive measures for road sections vulnerable to icing in preparation for cold waves and snowfall, in order to support hometown visits and activities by returning visitors.
In addition, the medical and livestock quarantine task team will provide uninterrupted medical services during the holiday period and maintain an operational system for the livestock quarantine situation room in preparation for any outbreaks of livestock infectious diseases.
Jangsu County Mayor Choi Hunsik said, "I hope that Seollal, the biggest traditional holiday of our nation, will be a precious time that offers warm comfort and hope to all our residents," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that returning visitors, tourists, and residents alike can enjoy a happy and safe Lunar New Year holiday."
