Daegu Seo-gu District Office Opens Naedang Library with 13.3 Billion Won Investment... One Basement Level, Four Above-Ground Floors, Total Floor Area of 2,816 Square Meters

Daegu Seo-gu District Office (headed by District Mayor Ryu Hankook) announced that the Naedang Library, whose construction began in June 2024 and was completed in December 2025, finished preparations for opening and officially opened to the public on the 10th.

Naedang Library, a school complex facility created within Gyeongun Elementary School through cooperation between the Daegu Seo-gu District Office and the Office of Education, began operations under the slogan "Seeing the World Through Books."

With a total project cost of 13.3 billion won, the library was built with one basement level and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,816 square meters. It is equipped with various complex spaces, including a general materials room, infant and children’s materials rooms, a bookshop corner, the Naedang Community Care Center, a quiet study, and an open study. In particular, the "Cloud Stairs" is a space featuring a soft curved design that serves both as a passage connecting the floors and as a photo zone where visitors can take pictures. With this additional "book zone," which allows residents to access a library within 10 minutes from anywhere in Seo-gu, the role of the area as an educational hub in each district is expected to be further strengthened.

Ryu Hankook, Mayor of Seo-gu District, said, "I find it very meaningful that Naedang Library has opened as the outcome of the library expansion projects that I have continuously pursued since taking office," adding, "Going forward, Seo-gu will continue to build a high-quality educational infrastructure so that children growing up in our community can develop into talented individuals with future competitiveness."
