NCSOFT's "Lineage Classic" has successfully attracted strong initial popularity by evoking nostalgia for the original title.

According to NCSOFT on the 9th, "Lineage Classic" reached a cumulative 500,000 users and a peak concurrent user count of 180,000 just two days after it began free service at 8 p.m. on the 7th.

Based on data compiled by Gametrics, the game's PC bang (internet cafe) usage share stood at 6.25% as of the previous day, ranking 4th. The number of concurrent viewers for "Lineage Classic" streams on platforms such as YouTube and SOOP reached up to 250,000.

The game’s success is attributed to faithfully restoring the original graphics, combat, and sound, and to adopting a monthly subscription model. Its active reflection of user feedback is also drawing attention. Through an emergency maintenance carried out the previous day, NCSOFT increased the number of monsters in popular hunting grounds and relaxed restrictions related to player killing (PK). After the official service begins on the 11th, the company said it is considering increasing the amount of in-game currency "Adena" that can be obtained, as well as introducing an auto-play system to reduce gameplay fatigue.

The development team stated in a "Letter from the Developers," "We developed 'Lineage Classic' after serious consideration of how to balance the restoration of memories with the flexibility required today," adding, "We will continue striving to recreate the thrilling memories of those days that remain in the hearts of many players."

"Lineage Classic" will be available for free until the 10th, and from the 11th it will be playable by purchasing a monthly subscription pass.
