5.8-Kilometer Barrier-Free Forest Trail, A Healing Hotspot
Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that the Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, which is directly operated by the county, and the Jeonnam Regional Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center (hereinafter referred to as the Healing Center) are receiving high praise as year-round wellness tourism destinations.
The Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, created on 160 hectares around Mount Jeamsan, features a 5.8-kilometer barrier-free walking trail (deck path) that runs along a magnificent cypress and cedar forest up to an elevation of 500 meters.

With no slopes or stairs, the trail is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, allowing visitors of all ages to experience the forest safely. In addition, the 1.0-kilometer Forest Barefoot Trail, which opened in 2025, has been created along a pine forest and valley, enabling visitors to fully experience nature in all four seasons.
The Healing Center, which is operated in connection with the recreation forest, is designed as a stay-type and experience-type healing facility based on the natural environment, promoting both physical and mental stability for visitors. A key feature is that the indoor and outdoor spaces are organically connected, allowing visitors to experience forest activities and professional healing programs in succession.
Major facilities within the center include a counseling and basic screening room for environmental disease prevention, an environment and health education conference room, an eco-friendly food and natural product experience classroom, a healing meditation room where visitors can experience meditation, yoga, and tea ceremonies, as well as a loess kiln sauna and green tea bath that help relax the body and mind.
The center operates a total of 11 programs, including eco-friendly dietary experiences such as making green tea Oranda and Kimchi-making, natural product workshops such as making kitchen detergent and soap, tea meditation, healing yoga, tea ceremony, woodworking, and forest experiences.
Facility usage fees are 7,000 won for the sauna, 7,000 won for children using the green tea bath, and 10,000 won for adults. Experience fees are 10,000 to 15,000 won for eco-friendly food programs, 10,000 to 25,000 won for natural product programs, 15,000 to 20,000 won for tea meditation, 10,000 won for the healing yoga class, 10,000 won for tea ceremony, and 30,000 won for woodworking.
Around the center, outdoor rest areas have been created that utilize the forest and natural scenery, linking indoor programs with nature-based healing. In addition, eco-friendly materials have been applied throughout the facilities, and hygiene and safety management standards are strictly observed, ensuring both environmental performance and safety.
An official from the county said, "We will continue to improve facilities with a focus on user convenience and operate systematic programs so that the Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest and the Jeonnam Regional Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center can be offered as the best forest recreation facilities in the country."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Regional Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center (Healing Center) was selected consecutively as an Excellent Wellness Tourism Destination, in a program hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, from 2019 through 2025.
