Visited the First Olive Better Store on January 30
Lee Jae-hyun: "High Potential for Growth"
Lee Jae-hyun, Chairman of CJ, personally visited the 'Olive Better' store, a new wellness business launched by CJ Olive Young. This move is interpreted as an effort to support the new wellness venture.
According to CJ Group on February 1, Chairman Lee visited the first Olive Better store located in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on January 30, where he inspected the store layout, flow, and service content. This visit was an unofficial one that was not disclosed to the public, and it took place as a pre-opening inspection ahead of the official opening at 12 p.m. that day.
Olive Better is a new store by CJ Olive Young that brings together a wide range of wellness products, including health supplements, nutritional products, and items related to exercise and sleep, leveraging the expertise accumulated through its health and beauty (H&B) business. Wellness, which refers to the pursuit of a healthy life through the balance of body and mind, is being positioned by Olive Young as its next-generation growth engine.
On-site, Chairman Lee stated, "Interest in wellness is high, but the market is fragmented. We have identified this well," adding, "The store layout and target setting are clear, so the potential for growth is high."
Afterward, Chairman Lee moved to the CJ Olive Young headquarters and held a town hall meeting called 'Moving Unit' with employees. About 30 people, including key executives and new business team members, attended the meeting. During the session, Chairman Lee emphasized, "After living a long and healthy life, there is living joyfully, and beyond that, there is living beautifully. At the end of that journey is Olive Young." He further added, "Olive Young is the most successful business from an 'Only One' perspective," and highlighted, "Territorial expansion, including global markets, is a key challenge."
