GS Engineering & Construction Selected as Contractor for Songpa Hanyang 2nd Apartment Reconstruction... Secures First Redevelopment Project of the Year

GS Engineering & Construction has been selected as the contractor for the reconstruction of Hanyang 2nd Apartment Complex in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

According to the construction and urban redevelopment industry on January 31, the Songpa Hanyang 2nd Reconstruction Association held a general meeting of members on this day and finalized the selection of GS Engineering & Construction as the contractor, as it was the sole bidder in the contractor selection tenders held in September and December of last year.

In urban redevelopment projects, the contractor selection tender is declared invalid if fewer than two construction companies participate. If it fails twice in a row, the association is allowed to sign a negotiated contract with the sole participating construction company.

Out of a total of 744 association members, 628 attended the meeting and 596 voted in favor. As a result, GS Engineering & Construction has secured its first urban redevelopment project of the year.

The total project cost is approximately 685.6 billion won. The plan is to reconstruct the current 10 buildings, each up to 12 stories high and comprising 744 households, into 12 buildings ranging from four basement levels to 29 above-ground floors, with a total of 1,368 households. GS Engineering & Construction has proposed 'Songpa Central Xi' as the name of the complex to the association.

On the same day, Hoban Construction won the reconstruction project for the Gojan Yeonrip 6th District in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.

The project involves developing the area around 612 Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, into six buildings ranging from three basement levels to 28 above-ground floors, with 587 apartment units and various community facilities. The total project cost is approximately 196.5 billion won. The 'Hoban Summit' brand will be applied to the complex for the first time in Ansan.
