National Palace Museum of Korea Calls for Papers for Journal "Gogung Culture"

The National Palace Museum of Korea announced on January 28 that it is calling for academic papers to be published in its journal "Gogung Culture" to promote research on the history and culture of the Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire.

The call is for research papers to be included in Issue 20 and Issue 21, which will be published on June 30 and December 30, respectively. The submission deadlines are April 10 for Issue 20 and September 4 for Issue 21.

Eligible fields include history, art history, architectural history, costume history, archaeology, and conservation science related to the royal families of the Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire. Manuscripts introducing or providing annotated bibliographies of relevant literature are also accepted. Anyone interested, including related researchers and the general public, is welcome to participate.

"Gogung Culture" is the only domestic academic journal specializing in royal studies, first published in 2007. In 2021, it was selected for inclusion in the Korean Citation Index (KCI). To provide timely introductions of research achievements, the museum expanded the publication cycle from once to twice a year starting last year.

Papers must be submitted through the "Gogung Culture Online Paper Submission System." Authors of papers selected for publication through the review process will receive an honorarium.
