"Loopholes in Barrier Operation Allow Free Access for External Vehicles"
"Calls for Comprehensive Parking Permit Review and Stricter Management Standards"
Controversy is growing as claims have been raised that the parking lot within the LH rental apartment complex in the Unjeong area of Paju is effectively being operated as if it is open to external vehicles. Residents have pointed out poor management, noting that luxury foreign cars and large vehicles are frequently seen in the complex's parking spaces.

On January 22, a post titled "Paju LH Rental Apartment! The Reality of the Parking Lot" was uploaded to the online community BobaeDream. The author, identified as resident A, disclosed that they live in the complex and shared photos of luxury foreign cars parked in the lot. The photos included expensive vehicles such as the Genesis G80, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as well as hearses and camping vehicles.
Public rental housing is supplied with the aim of providing housing stability for socially vulnerable groups, supported by the finances of the national or local government or the Housing and Urban Fund. Only members of households with a total combined asset value of 337 million won or less, and with all vehicles owned by household members valued at 45.63 million won or less, are eligible to move in, provided they do not own a home. This means that there should not be luxury foreign cars worth hundreds of millions of won in the parking lot for residents of rental apartments.
In the post, A sarcastically wrote, "If the Unjeong GTX Station public parking lot is too far, just park at LH Complex 10. It's free," implying that the complex's parking lot is essentially being used as a public parking facility.
In additional comments, A claimed, "This is a national rental complex. When the security guard is on duty, the barrier operates normally, but after the guard leaves, vehicles can enter and exit virtually without restriction." He explained that during hours when there is no security guard, external vehicles can come and go without any limitations.
Other residents expressed similar sentiments. One user pointed out, "There are loopholes in the eligibility criteria for rental apartment residents," adding, "There are many cases where security guards open the barrier without checking." Another resident argued, "Parking permits should only be issued to vehicles registered under residents' names, so a thorough investigation is needed," and noted, "A variety of vehicles, from the latest Tesla models to high-priced foreign cars, are parked here."
They especially demanded improvements to the management system, saying, "The operation of the barrier and parking management standards need to be reestablished," and "Is this a free public parking lot?" Some appealed that non-residents occupying the parking spaces are causing increasing inconvenience for actual residents.
