NanoSilican Advanced Materials is accelerating preparations to supply silicon anode material samples for secondary batteries to three major domestic cell manufacturers.
On January 23, NanoSilican Advanced Materials announced that it is currently producing and verifying samples using its own facilities, and plans to complete the final preparations for supplying silicon anode material samples by the end of this month.
Previously, in November last year, NanoSilican Advanced Materials successfully completed performance verification of its silicon anode material through a government-affiliated specialized production research institute in the electronics and IT sector. In December, the company also formalized technical cooperation by signing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with three major domestic cell manufacturers.
NanoSilican Advanced Materials is currently producing advanced silicon anode material samples based on its pilot facilities, while simultaneously preparing for large-scale production using mass production facilities. In particular, by applying its proprietary process technology, the company is stably manufacturing high-quality silicon anode materials with a significant price competitiveness advantage. The company expects that the samples to be provided to the major domestic cell manufacturers will play a key role in the initial stage of commercialization.
Silicon anode materials are regarded as next-generation materials that can significantly increase energy density compared to conventional graphite anode materials, and are considered highly promising for use in various industries, including electric vehicles, drones, and robots.
Through this sample supply, NanoSilican Advanced Materials plans to demonstrate the excellence of its silicon anode materials to the market and further solidify its position as an advanced materials company in the secondary battery sector.
A representative from NanoSilican Advanced Materials stated, "Our silicon anode material's greatest strength lies in its unrivaled price competitiveness based on our proprietary process technology," adding, "We expect that the samples supplied this time will serve as an important turning point, earning market trust and leading to commercialization."
