[Weather Tomorrow] "Cold to Continue Through the Weekend"... Gwangju and Jeonnam to See Morning Lows of -7°C Tomorrow On Friday the 23rd, the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions are forecasted to continue experiencing severe cold, with morning temperatures dropping as low as -7 degrees Celsius. On the 23rd, the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions are expected to continue experiencing severe cold, with morning temperatures dropping to as low as -7 degrees Celsius. Snowfall is also forecast, particularly in the coastal and inland areas of the west.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 22nd, Gwangju and Jeonnam will be mostly cloudy and cold on the 23rd due to the influence of a cold continental high-pressure system expanding from northern China.

During the night, 1 to 3 centimeters of snow is expected in Gwangju, the central inland areas of Jeonnam, and the west coast. The anticipated precipitation is around 1 millimeter. The snowfall is forecast to continue through Saturday the 24th.

On the 23rd, the morning low will range from -7 to -1 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high will range from 4 to 7 degrees Celsius. These temperatures are lower than the seasonal averages (morning low: -5 to 0 degrees, daytime high: 5 to 8 degrees), and with strong winds, the wind chill will make it feel even colder.

Weather advisories also differ by region. A heavy snow advisory is in effect for eight cities and counties in the western part of Jeonnam, including Jangseong, Yeongam, and Muan, while a dry weather advisory has been issued for the eastern southern coast, including Yeosu and Gwangyang.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has urged extra caution to prevent wildfires and other fires, especially in areas under dry weather advisories, as the air is very dry and the winds are strong.

The cold is expected to persist throughout the weekend, with temperatures returning to seasonal averages early next week. However, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that another severe cold snap will arrive in the latter half of the week.

An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration stated, "With the recent snowfall freezing, icy roads and black ice are likely in many areas, so please pay special attention to traffic safety. We also advise the elderly, those with weak immune systems, and children to refrain from outdoor activities as much as possible and to take care of their health."
