Gathering Residents' Opinions
Actively Reflecting Them in County Administration
Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that its “2026 New Beginning: Dialogue with Residents,” which began on January 12, successfully concluded its tour of all 13 towns and townships with the final session held in Hwasun-eup on January 21.
This “Dialogue with Residents” served as an opportunity to share the achievements and vision of county administration with residents, and to increase administrative trust by transparently disclosing the plans for key projects being promoted in each town and township.
Furthermore, to allow residents to openly discuss their concerns, the sessions were conducted in a Q&A format, not limited to pre-submitted questions. County Mayor Koo Bokgyu listened to suggestions on site and provided immediate responses. A wide range of opinions were raised, from practical civil complaints closely related to daily life, such as road paving and senior center repairs, to proposals regarding the future of Hwasun County.
The county plans to take immediate action on suggestions that can be addressed on site, while those requiring budget allocations or legal review will undergo on-site inspections and thorough examination by the relevant departments before being actively incorporated into county administration.
Additionally, the county will promptly inform those who made suggestions of the results and progress, aiming to further enhance administrative trust.
Koo Bokgyu, Mayor of Hwasun County, stated, “I deeply appreciate all the residents who showed interest and participated in county affairs despite the cold weather. I will carefully consider each and every valuable opinion heard on site and use them as a foundation to renew Hwasun and bring happiness to our residents.”
Meanwhile, Hwasun County plans to continue its communication with residents through various channels, such as informal discussion meetings, even after this annual tour.
