Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on January 22 that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 4th Hampyeong County Youth Policy Council, officially launching a policy cooperation system with direct youth participation.
The Hampyeong County Youth Policy Council is a local youth assembly established to gather opinions and propose policies related to youth issues. It consists of 13 members selected through an open recruitment process, and each member serves a two-year term.
About 10 members of the 4th council, including Hampyeong County Governor Lee Sangik, attended the inauguration ceremony. The event included a progress report on the council's operations, presentation of appointment letters, election of executive members, and discussion of future operational directions.
Starting this year, relevant department heads will attend regular meetings based on the agenda items, strengthening practical measures to ensure the effectiveness of policy proposals.
A Hampyeong County official stated, "The Youth Policy Council serves as a communication channel for young people to take the lead in addressing local youth issues," adding, "Going forward, we will expand the foundation for youth participation through the council and actively reflect the voices of young people in all aspects of county administration."
