The Geumsan Ginseng and Herb Industry Promotion Agency has established five key strategies for 2026 to overcome the structural crisis facing the ginseng industry and to drive the global advancement of Geumsan Ginseng: ▲Safety Management ▲Research and Development (R&D) ▲Sales Expansion ▲Market Cooperation ▲Business Support.

Through these strategies, the agency aims to address the overall crisis in the industry, such as the aging farming population and shrinking consumer demand, and to fundamentally improve the industry's structure.

In the area of safety management, the agency has designated this year as the inaugural year for the distribution of safe ginseng. It plans to restore consumer trust and dramatically enhance safety by supporting farms participating in the Positive List System (PLS) inspections for pesticide residue management and by conducting thorough distribution monitoring.

For research and development (R&D), the focus is on practical application driven by market demand. The agency will facilitate technology transfer to businesses and concentrate on developing products with real market potential to create industrial value.

To expand sales, the agency will play a central role in opening new markets. It plans to strengthen public-private marketing for the K-INSAM brand, expand overseas promotions, and build online platforms to increase its market dominance.

Additionally, market cooperation will modernize the distribution structure through the digitalization of transactions and settlements and the design of public distribution centers. Business support will focus on lowering entry barriers and strengthening post-entry management, thereby simultaneously increasing growth opportunities and accountability for small businesses.

Park Jihung, President of the Geumsan Ginseng and Herb Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "Proactive response is essential in a rapidly changing market environment," adding, "Through the seamless implementation of the five key strategies, we will achieve tangible increases in farmers' income and revitalize the local economy."
