Sandbox Network (hereafter Sandbox) is optimizing its management structure by transitioning to a single CEO system. This decision follows the successful completion of the company's internal strengthening efforts that began in 2024, and is part of a strategic roadmap for the next phase: accelerating growth.
On January 21, Sandbox announced through its board of directors that Byungkon Cha, previously Co-CEO, has been appointed as the sole CEO. This transition is not a managerial change but an anticipated evolution toward advanced governance in line with the company's growth cycle. After bringing in financial expert Byungkon Cha as Co-CEO in 2024 and stabilizing the reorganization, the company now aims to maximize execution through "focus and speed."
As the sole CEO, Byungkon Cha will be responsible for all aspects of business operations, building on achievements in financial stabilization, operational structure improvement, and business portfolio restructuring. With a solid foundation established as a financial expert and a unified decision-making system, he plans to further enhance the profitability of the digital IP business and significantly increase the company's overall execution speed.
Co-founder Pilseong Lee will shift his role to Chairman of the Board and Chief Growth Officer (CGO). As CGO, Lee will focus on expanding global partnerships and establishing mid-to-long-term strategies to broaden the company's scope and enhance its future value. Heeseon Na (Ddotty), Chief Creator Officer (CCO), will also concentrate on innovating the creator ecosystem and strengthening partnerships, maximizing synergy with the management team.
This restructuring is especially significant as it completes an advanced governance system designed for mid-to-long-term growth. The strategy is to secure both transparency and expertise in responsible management by establishing a structure in which an independent board of directors sets the strategic direction and a sole CEO leads the business with consistent leadership. Sandbox stated, "This is the evolution of governance in step with corporate growth," adding, "Through this, we will solidify market trust and strengthen our momentum."
CEO Byungkon Cha commented, "If the past two years were a time of building a solid foundation for growth, now is the time to accelerate execution based on the momentum we have prepared," adding, "With agile business execution, I will lead Sandbox to become a digital creator IP company that demonstrates sustainable growth."
CGO Pilseong Lee said, "This change will be a turning point for Sandbox to leap to a higher level through the synergy of professional management and strategic growth," adding, "As Chairman of the Board and CGO, I will devote myself to shaping the sustainable future of Sandbox."
Celebrating its 11th anniversary, Sandbox aims to use this transition as a springboard to optimize its decision-making structure and accelerate growth momentum for the next decade.
