The integrated care system is a policy that enables citizens in need of care, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, to receive comprehensive medical, nursing, and care services in their own communities.

On January 20, the city held the inauguration ceremony for the 'Siheung City Integrated Support Council' at the City Hall Global Center, officially launching the local integrated care support system.

The ceremony was attended by 19 experts from various fields, including Siheung Mayor Lim Byung-taek, who serves as the chairperson. They reviewed the progress of the integrated care initiative and deliberated on the '2026 Integrated Care Implementation Plan.'

Going forward, the council will serve as the control tower for integrated care policy. It will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and evaluating local integrated care plans; deliberating and advising on integrated support measures; and facilitating coordination and collaboration among related organizations.

Previously, on January 5, the city reorganized its administrative structure to establish the 'Integrated Care Division' overseeing integrated care policy. The city has also been gradually strengthening the foundation for integrated local care support by setting up an integrated support center, integrated support meetings, and sector-specific collaboration systems.

Looking ahead, the city plans to establish an institutional foundation by amending the 'Ordinance on Community Integrated Care in Siheung City' and to fully launch medical and nursing integrated care projects starting in March.

Mayor Lim stated, "The council is a core cooperative body that connects systems and the field, public and private sectors, health and welfare, as well as housing and care in Siheung's integrated care model. Centered on the Integrated Care Division, we will steadily build a Siheung-style integrated care system through close cooperation among local offices, health centers, medical institutions, and welfare and housing support agencies."
