This training program was organized in collaboration with KOICA and the Global Civic Sharing to strengthen the capabilities of young volunteers who will play a role in cultural exchange in local communities abroad.

The training was designed to help overseas volunteer members understand Korean folk culture and enhance their ability to facilitate cultural exchange with local communities. It is being conducted in two sessions. The first session was held on this day at the Traditional Culture Learning Center of the National Folk Museum of Korea, while the second session is scheduled for July.

The program consisted of expert lectures, exhibition tours, and hands-on activities. Lectures covered topics such as daily life and food culture in Korea, as well as traditional games, followed by guided tours of the permanent exhibition and communication exercises through play.

This training is significant in that it strengthened the foundation for public diplomacy through cooperation between the National Folk Museum of Korea and Global Civic Sharing. The Youth Startup Volunteer Group project, promoted by KOICA and Global Civic Sharing, will be carried out from 2025 to 2027 in Timor-Leste, Laos, and Vietnam, with volunteers working in the fields of education, tourism, and special education.

The National Folk Museum of Korea plans to use this training as an opportunity to expand its cooperation network with overseas volunteer organizations and to further strengthen its role as a hub for international cultural education and public diplomacy.
