The Andong City Agricultural Products Processing Center has received a commendation from the Korea Food Safety Management Certification Institute in recognition of its achievements in innovating food safety management by incorporating smart technology.


The Andong Agricultural Technology Center (headed by Jeon Jongho) announced on the 19th that the Andong City Agricultural Products Processing Center was awarded a commendation for "Institutional Cooperation and Development Merit" by the Korea Food Safety Management Certification Institute (HACCP Certification Institute) for its contribution to improving food hygiene and safety management standards.

This commendation is awarded to individuals and external organizations or groups that have actively supported the work of the HACCP Certification Institute and contributed to the spread and development of the food safety management certification system (HACCP).


The Andong City Agricultural Products Processing Center received high praise for proactively introducing the "Smart HACCP" system, thereby raising the hygiene and safety standards of locally processed agricultural food products.


The Smart HACCP system uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to automatically record and manage real-time monitoring data for critical control points (CCP). This next-generation food safety management model is attracting attention for reducing the possibility of data manipulation while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency and reliability of process management.


In particular, the center has played a key role by providing HACCP-certified facilities that are difficult for individual farms to establish on their own, thereby strengthening the processing capabilities of small-scale farmers and expanding the foundation for new businesses.


Through a one-stop support system that covers everything from prototype development and production support to start-up consulting, the center has promoted high value-added agricultural products and enhanced the competitiveness of the local agricultural processing industry ecosystem.


An official from Andong City stated, "This award is the result of our efforts to prioritize food safety in cooperation with local farmers," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our hygiene management system based on smart technology to build an Andong agricultural food brand that consumers can trust."


Currently, the Andong City Agricultural Products Processing Center provides training on the use of processing equipment and supports product production in accordance with HACCP standards for local farmers, thereby contributing to increased farm income and the revitalization of processing and start-up activities.
