Strengthening the Foundation for Youth Entrepreneurship
by Supporting the Commercialization of Outstanding Ideas
On January 19, the city of Yeongcheon announced that it will host the 4th Young Farmers Agri-Food Idea Contest to discover and nurture creative and feasible ideas from young farmers.
This contest covers all areas of agriculture, including agricultural production, processing, distribution and sales, experience and tourism, as well as the agri-food convergence industry.
Participants will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of the creativity and feasibility of their ideas, focusing on specific business plans and their viability.
Eligibility is open to farmers or prospective farmers between the ages of 19 and 45, with no residency restrictions. However, if selected, applicants residing outside Yeongcheon must relocate to Yeongcheon before starting the project.
Selected participants will receive funding for their projects, up to a maximum of 100 million won per person, including a 10% self-contribution. The funds can be used for facility installation, equipment and material purchases, prototype development, and other expenses necessary to realize their ideas.
Applications can be submitted in person to the Human Resources Development Team of the Rural Guidance Division at the Agricultural Technology Center until February 13. Detailed information, including application documents, is available on the Agricultural Technology Center’s website.
A city official stated, "The creative ideas of young farmers are a key asset in enhancing the competitiveness of local agriculture and creating new growth engines. We will actively support young people's passion and challenges so that they can be translated into real businesses through this contest."
