Over 100 people, including the mayor, provincial and city council members, and residents, attended the meeting. The event served as an opportunity to share the projects carried out with resident participation and to discuss the direction of future changes.
In 2025, Howon 2-dong introduced a variety of activities, including various projects conducted with residents, on-site road-checking activities to proactively identify resident inconveniences, the entrance plaza to Jikdong Neighborhood Park, the 40th Hoeryong Cultural Festival featuring the reenactment of the 'Uijeongbu Parade of King Taejo and King Taejong,' the 'Autumn is a Book-Blooming Garden' event, and the Hoeryong Alley Festa.
Plans for 2026 include the 'Our Village, Tended by Our Hands' project featuring river keeper activities, strengthening historical identity by temporarily enshrining the portrait of King Taejo at Hoeryongsa Temple, and the completion of the nation's first dedicated Go stadium and an indoor badminton court, all of which will further expand the sports and cultural infrastructure in Howon 2-dong.
During the following dialogue session with residents, participants raised questions and made suggestions regarding local issues, making it a meaningful time to exchange diverse opinions on the future direction of Howon 2-dong's development.
An Uijeongbu City official stated, "This report meeting was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the administrative activities we have undertaken with residents and to share future development directions together. We will continue to focus on field-oriented communication so that residents' opinions are faithfully reflected in city and district administration."
