Enhancing Capabilities in Financial Regulation and Supervision of Financial Institutions
Bae, Kim & Lee LLC announced on January 15 that it has recruited attorney Hong Sujung, former Legal Counsel for Regulatory Reform at the Financial Services Commission, and Park Jonghun, Senior Advisor and former Financial Supervisory Service official.
Attorney Hong Sujung (33rd Judicial Research and Training Institute class) graduated from the Seoul National University School of Law and began her career in financial work at Shin & Kim LLC in 2004. She joined the Financial Services Commission in 2012. In particular, she is recognized as an expert in all areas of financial regulation, having served as Legal Counsel for Regulatory Reform at the Financial Services Commission. Attorney Hong oversaw regulatory reform work, reviewed financial legislation, conducted legal reviews of agenda items submitted to the Financial Services Commission, and managed administrative appeals and litigation for the commission.
Attorney Hong will be responsible for regulatory compliance for financial companies and global regulatory response for new business areas such as blockchain and digital assets at the Bae, Kim & Lee LLC Financial Group and Future Finance Strategy Center.
Senior Advisor Park Jonghun graduated from the Department of Public Administration at Yonsei University and earned an MBA from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Graduate School of Business. Since 1995, Park has spent nearly 30 years at the Financial Supervisory Service, handling insurance regulations, dispute mediation, insurance inspections and sanctions, and insurance product review, building extensive expertise in all aspects of insurance supervision.
Senior Advisor Park will oversee work related to insurance regulations, insurance company inspections and sanctions, insurance products, insurance company restructuring, and risk analysis at the Bae, Kim & Lee LLC Financial Group and Healthcare Group.
