Boramsangjo presented "C.U.R.A.T.O.R" as the trend keyword forecasting the funeral service industry in 2026 on January 15.
In anticipation of the era of curated funeral services, Boramsangjo introduced seven core trends for the funeral industry and selected "CURATOR" (C.U.R.A.T.O.R), an acronym formed from the initial letters of each trend in English, as the outlook keyword for this year.
Specifically, these include: ▲Customized omni-care (personalized lifetime care), ▲Ultimate Reliability & Tradition (the highest level of reliability and tradition), ▲Responsibility for the community (social responsibility to the local community), ▲AI & Digital Evolution (AI-based funeral services), ▲Total Platform Strategy (pursuing a total life care platform strategy), ▲Optimization of Affiliate partnerships (strengthening partnerships with other industries), and ▲Redefined Memorial Experience (redefining the memorial experience).
Boramsangjo expects that this year, the funeral service market will stabilize with 10 million subscribers and 10 trillion won in advance payments, prompting the industry to pursue new changes and seek advancement through convergence. In line with this, Boram Group, the parent company of Boramsangjo, which recently rebranded itself as a "Life Curator," plans to further clarify its role as a partner that manages and designs the entirety of customers' lives in the 2026 funeral service industry.
A Boram Group representative stated, "2026 is expected to be a year in which the industry grows alongside the gradual recovery of the domestic market and the concrete expansion of services. We hope that, through smooth communication with various stakeholders, the funeral service industry will secure the momentum for continued growth throughout the year."
