Mayor Park Seungwon of Gwangmyeong: "Expanding Citizen Sovereignty to Achieve a Sustainable Future"

"Conversations with Citizens" to Be Held in 19 Neighborhoods Starting January 19
Mayor to Share City Administration Plans and Hear Direct Feedback

Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province, will hold a series of "Conversations with Citizens" in 19 neighborhoods throughout the city from January 19 to January 30 to mark the New Year.

Through these "Conversations with Citizens," Mayor Park will share the overall direction for city administration this year and listen to citizens' opinions on daily inconveniences and local issues directly at each site. Department heads responsible for local issues will also accompany him during this schedule.


Mayor Park stated, "All power comes from the citizens," adding, "I will listen more closely to the voices of citizens on site and turn them into the driving force to complete the future of Gwangmyeong."


Mayor Park will personally explain his vision for city administration to citizens, focusing on future strategies to build a foundational society that supports citizens' lives and to advance toward a sustainable city.


Mayor Park emphasized, "Especially in times of complex crises such as the climate crisis, economic uncertainty, and social disparities, the core of city administration must be the lives of citizens. I will make citizens' voices both the starting point and the goal of city administration, and work to create a sustainable Gwangmyeong."

▲ January 21: Gwangmyeong 5-dong (Gwangmyeong Welfare Center for the Disabled), Gwangmyeong 6-dong (Gwangnam Middle School Gymnasium)
▲ January 22: Gwangmyeong 7-dong (Gwangmun Elementary School Gymnasium), Cheolsan 1-dong (Gwangmyeong Elementary School Auditorium)
▲ January 23: Cheolsan 2-dong (Gwangmyeong Elementary School Auditorium), Cheolsan 3-dong (Open Citizen Center)
▲ January 26: Cheolsan 4-dong (Open Citizen Center), Haan 1-dong (Haanbuk Elementary School Gymnasium)
