Support for New Students Residing in Yeongcheon as of March 3
Subsidies to Be Provided Sequentially Starting in May
On January 15, Yeongcheon City announced that it will provide 300,000 won per person to cover school uniform purchase costs for new students entering middle and high schools this year.
The recipients are new students who, as of March 3 this year, have their resident registration in Yeongcheon City and are entering schools-either within or outside the city-that require uniforms, as well as first-year students who transfer to schools within Yeongcheon after the reference date and have their resident registration in the city.
For new students entering schools within Yeongcheon, applications will be accepted in bulk through each school during the concentrated application period from March 16 to April 3. Application forms should be submitted to the school the student is attending.
For those entering schools outside Yeongcheon, individual applications can be submitted to the local administrative welfare center of their registered address by November 30.
The city will verify the recipients' resident registration addresses and check for duplicate support before providing the subsidy to the designated accounts starting in May.
A city official stated, "We expect that supporting school uniform purchase costs will help reduce the financial burden on parents and allow all students to focus on their studies without discrimination."
