Bang Shinshil, a long hitter on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, has donated 100 million won to support underprivileged residents in her hometown of Pyeongtaek City.

On January 15, Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea announced, "Bang Shinshil has joined the 'Honor Society,' a group of high-value donors who contribute more than 100 million won, becoming the 388th member from Gyeonggi Province." The induction ceremony was held on the afternoon of January 14 at Pyeongtaek City Hall in Gyeonggi Province, attended by Mayor Jung Jangsun of Pyeongtaek, Bang Shinshil, and Kwon Inwook, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.

Bang Shinshil is the fourth professional golfer from Gyeonggi Province to join the Honor Society, following Choi Nayeon (14th member), Park Hyunkyung (300th member), and Kim Suji (308th member). Born in 2004, Bang Shinshil has become the youngest member of the Gyeonggi Honor Society Club through this induction.

Having been born and raised in Pyeongtaek, she explained that she decided to donate as a way to give back to her hometown, where she enjoyed a happy childhood. Last year, Bang Shinshil was appointed as an ambassador for Pyeongtaek City and participated in various activities to promote city policies. She stated, "I have come this far thanks to the support and love of many people," and added, "I hope to continue giving back the love I have received through donations and volunteer work."
