1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF Surpasses 200 Billion Won in Net Assets

Hana Asset Management announced on January 15 that its "1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF," which was listed on November 25 last year, has surpassed 200 billion won in net assets, driven by net purchases from individual and pension investors.

Since its listing, the 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF has recorded 34 consecutive trading days of net buying by individual investors. The cumulative net purchase amount has reached approximately 139.2 billion won.

The 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF is the first ETF in Korea to focus on leading US space and aerospace technology companies. It holds Rocket Lab and Joby Aviation with the largest allocations, each at around 16%, while the remaining approximately 68% is invested in key related companies such as Palantir, GE Aerospace, AST SpaceMobile, and Archer Aviation. The proportion of Rocket Lab in this ETF is the highest among all ETFs listed in Korea. If SpaceX goes public in the future, the 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF plans to immediately include it with the maximum allocation.

According to the Korea Exchange, the 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF posted a return of about 45% just seven weeks after its listing.

Expectations have grown following news that space company SpaceX is planning an initial public offering (IPO) in 2026, estimated to be worth around 1.5 trillion dollars (approximately 2,200 trillion won). The stock prices of space-related companies, including Rocket Lab-the ETF’s top holding-as well as Intuitive Machines, AST SpaceMobile, and GE Aerospace, have risen sharply.

Kim Taewoo, CEO of Hana Asset Management, stated, "With SpaceX’s plans to go public, we expect the aerospace industry to attract significant attention and growth going forward," adding, "We will continue to launch differentiated ETFs unique to the 1Q ETF lineup."

Hana Asset Management is currently running the "Night Sky Space Journey with 1Q ETF" event in partnership with Seoul National University. Investors who hold at least one share of a 1Q ETF can apply by submitting a screenshot of their holdings, and winners will be invited to a planetarium program and stargazing event held at the Gwanak Campus of Seoul National University. Detailed information about the event is available on the official 1Q ETF website.
