Online educational content for parents has been released to help connect their children's scientific curiosity to future career paths.

The National Science Museum announced on January 14 that it has produced and released an online educational video for parents nationwide, providing guidance on how to use science competitions to support their children's career development. This program focuses on systematically explaining the roles parents can play during the preparation process for science competitions.

The video course is centered on the National Science Exhibition, which awards the Presidential Prize, and the National Student Science Invention Competition. It explains not only the basic procedures and preparation steps for these competitions, but also provides a step-by-step guide for parents on how to support their children's research activities at home.

The National Science Museum noted that disparities in access to information based on region and environment have led to differences in opportunities to participate in science competitions. To address this, the museum planned online educational content for parents that can be accessed equally from anywhere in the country, aiming to reduce the information gap regarding science activities.

In particular, the video features a current teacher with extensive experience in coaching students for science competitions. Beyond simple preparation tips, the course specifically presents methods for parents to identify their children's interests and talents early on, as well as concrete directions for ongoing at-home mentoring to nurture scientific curiosity.

The National Science Museum emphasized that experiences in which children ask questions and explore on their own can expand their interest in science and serve as an important starting point for shaping their future career paths.

The educational video is available free of charge at all times through the 'EducationON' section of the Parent Onnuri platform for parent education. Those who complete the course will also receive free admission to the paid exhibition halls of the National Science Museum.
