Gachon University Startup College (Gachon Cocone School) will host the "2026 Korea Science Gifted High School Startup Camp (GCSH, Gachon Cocone School for High Schoolers)" in collaboration with eight science gifted high schools nationwide.
This camp will take place at Gachon University over three days and two nights from January 15 to 17, 2026, with the participation of 43 students from eight science gifted high schools across the country, including Gyeonggi Science High School, Seoul Science High School, and Daegu Science High School. The participating students will form teams beyond their own schools and compete in entrepreneurial skills utilizing next-generation AI technologies.
This event is the first practical program implemented based on the agreement signed last September between Gachon University and the eight science gifted high schools nationwide to foster future entrepreneurial talent.
With next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) technology as its theme, the camp focuses on hands-on education that goes beyond theoretical learning to connect scientific achievements with startup ideas.
Participants will join an "immersive blind hackathon," where they will use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and NotebookLM to tackle AI technology topics that are revealed on-site without any prior information.
Through this process, students will gain experience analyzing the opportunities and limitations created by science and technology from an entrepreneurial perspective and developing them into concrete business models. Outstanding teams will be awarded the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award and the Gachon University President's Award, among others.
Jang Daeik, Dean of Gachon University Startup College, said, "We want to show STEM talents the limitless entrepreneurial world created by next-generation AI technologies," adding, "This camp will serve as a first step for students to prove their scientific talents to the world through entrepreneurship."
