Damyang County in Jeollanam-do has officially launched the "2026 New Year Practical Education for Farmers" to enhance the smart farming capabilities of local farmers and establish a sustainable agricultural ecosystem in response to the rapidly changing agricultural environment.
On January 13, Damyang County announced that it will begin a large-scale practical education program for local farmers, starting at the Damyang Cultural Center and continuing for one month until February 13.
This education program will be held a total of 17 times, touring all 12 towns and townships. The curriculum covers Damyang's main crops such as rice, strawberries, and blueberries, as well as specialized courses to increase agricultural added value, including healing agriculture, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and agricultural product processing.
Notably, as in the previous year, the mandatory education for the Public Direct Payment System is included in the curriculum to provide convenience for farmers. In addition, the program will offer detailed guidance on the newly revamped next-generation agricultural and rural integrated information system, "Nongup e-G," and will further strengthen the promotion of safe farming practices.
An official from the county stated, "This education program goes beyond simply delivering information; it will serve as an important platform for farmers to share new technologies and enhance their competitiveness. We will spare no administrative support to help Damyang County become a future-oriented agricultural city that creates high added value."
