"Parental Participation Transforms Jeonnam Education"... Four Honored with Ministerial Award

Jeonnam Office of Education Holds Award Ceremony for Excellence in Promoting Parental Participation in Education

On January 12, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held an award ceremony in the Superintendent's Office to present certificates of commendation to four parents who received the Minister of Education Award for "Excellence in Promoting Parental Participation in Education in 2025."


The award recipients are Park Eunsil, President of the Jeonnam Parents' Association Federation; Park Sujin, Vice President of the Naju Parents' Association Federation; Song Yeonjae, Vice President of the Mokpo Parents' Association Federation; and Han Yujin, President of the Yeosu Parents' Association Federation.


They were recognized for their contributions throughout 2025 as members of the Jeonnam Parents' Association Federation and local parents' associations, working in collaboration with the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education to communicate the diverse needs of schools and help resolve educational issues at the school level.

They were also highly praised for their ongoing communication with Superintendent Kim Daejung, ensuring that parents' opinions were reflected in Jeonnam's education policies.


President Park Eunsil, who previously served as President of the Suncheon Parents' Association Federation, contributed to parental educational autonomy and the development of education in Jeonnam. Vice President Park Sujin actively promoted parental participation in education in the Naju area as an executive member of the Jeonnam Parents' Association Federation in 2024.


Vice President Song Yeonjae represented the voices of parents of special schools as President of the Mokpo Character School Parents' Association and as Vice President of the Jeonnam Parents' Association Federation from 2024 to 2025. President Han Yujin led volunteer activities to improve the learning environment, organized capacity-building workshops for parents, and operated reading clubs in the Yeosu area.


President Park Eunsil stated, "Parental interest and participation are essential to resolving educational issues in Jeonnam and ensuring that children can learn in a better environment," adding, "I will continue to work for the advancement of education in Jeonnam."


Superintendent Kim Daejung said, "I would like to thank the four recipients for their dedication to the development of education in Jeonnam and for fostering a positive culture of parental participation in education," and requested their continued active involvement in the major transformation of education in Jeonnam.
