Recently, the Director of the Forest Management Division of South Gyeongsang Province visited a temporary helicopter base established in Hamyang County to inspect wildfire prevention and response readiness. This on-site visit was arranged to directly check the preparedness for the rapid deployment of aerial resources and the local conditions in the event of a wildfire.

The Director of the Forest Management Division inspected the operational status and safety management of the temporary helicopter base, emphasizing the importance of aerial resources in wildfire response and calling for thorough pre-inspections and strengthened prevention activities.

In line with the establishment of the National Wildfire Prevention Center in the southern region, Hamyang County plans to continuously review the overall wildfire response infrastructure and continue preparations to enhance on-site response capabilities.

Additionally, a meeting was held for the exchange of work among agency heads regarding wildfire response, attended by Hamyang County Governor Jin Byeongyeong, the Chief of the Western Regional Forest Service, and the Head of the National Wildfire Prevention Center in the southern region. The participants shared their views on the wildfire prevention and response system centered around the National Wildfire Prevention Center in the southern region and the roles of each agency, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation among related organizations in the future.

This meeting was particularly meaningful as it went beyond the format of an official meeting, allowing for a free exchange of opinions on wildfire response issues and operational directions, thereby deepening mutual understanding and building a foundation for cooperation. The agency heads agreed on the importance of close communication and on-site cooperation among agencies for proactive responses to large-scale wildfires.

Going forward, Hamyang County will further strengthen the collaborative system among the central government, metropolitan governments, and forestry-related organizations, with the National Wildfire Prevention Center in the southern region at its core, to ensure effective response throughout all stages from wildfire prevention to initial response and suppression support.

Governor Jin Byeongyeong stated, "This on-site inspection and the exchange among agency heads served as an opportunity to review and strengthen the wildfire response cooperation system ahead of the operation of the National Wildfire Prevention Center in the southern region," adding, "We will continue to work closely with related agencies to do our utmost to protect the lives of our people and our precious forest resources."
