Since its founding in 1973, Kyungdong Co., Ltd. has specialized in plant engineering, manufacturing saw machines and pipe end processing machines, and has grown steadily based on its technological expertise and quality. Founder Lee Chanwoo became the 50th member of the Honor Society, a group of major individual donors, in 2015, leading the spread of a culture of sharing. With this new status as an Exemplary Donor Company, CEO Lee Sangho, representing the second generation of management, is continuing the legacy of giving.
A portion of the donated funds will be used for the "Social Welfare Institution Vehicle Support Project," providing vehicles to improve access to welfare services for vulnerable groups in the local community.
Lee Sangho, CEO of Kyungdong Co., Ltd., stated, "Since our founding in 1973, Kyungdong has grown together with the local community. I believe it is our natural duty to give back the company’s achievements to the region. I am deeply honored that joining the Exemplary Donor Companies program allows us to offer practical support to neighbors in need, and we will continue to contribute to building a warm community through ongoing sharing."
Shin Hongsik, Chairman of the Daegu Community Chest of Korea, said, "I sincerely thank Kyungdong Co., Ltd. for opening 2026 with an act of sharing. We will ensure that the donations are used transparently and responsibly to bring about tangible changes in the field of local welfare."
The Exemplary Donor Companies program is an honor roll awarded by the Community Chest of Korea to companies that contribute to spreading a culture of sharing in the community through continuous major donations. Participation from companies in the Daegu region continues to grow steadily.
