This research project was initiated to realize a city where people are born, grow up, work, get married, raise children, and spend their later years in Wonju.
During the meeting, the results of the study analyzing the policy needs of each generation from the perspective of the entire life cycle of Wonju citizens were shared, along with research findings aimed at developing specialized policies based on these needs.
In addition, generation-specific customized policies derived from surveys and in-depth interviews were presented. The main policies include: expanding childcare services and support policies for pregnant women; providing job opportunities and career counseling most needed by the youth; offering support services for companies and self-employed individuals desired by the middle-aged group; and introducing AI education and well-being check-in services for the elderly.
Wonju City plans to thoroughly review the feasibility of the various policies presented at the final report meeting and proceed with related projects accordingly.
Mayor Won Kangsoo stated, "The goal of this research is to develop customized policies that consider the generational characteristics and life stages of Wonju citizens, thereby creating changes that residents can truly feel," adding, "We will actively reflect the research results in our policies so that Wonju can grow into a city that is friendly to all stages of life."
