Jinan County in Jeonbuk has unveiled the blueprint for the "Wollang District Urban Development Project," which is set to become the region's new residential hub, and has begun full-scale communication with local residents.

According to Jinan County on January 8, the county held a residents' briefing session for the "Wollang District Urban Development Project" at the county office auditorium, with landowners, residents, and other stakeholders in attendance, sharing the project's purpose and detailed development plans.

This is the first urban development project to be pursued in Jinan County. The project will systematically establish residential facilities, parks, green spaces, and other infrastructure on a 73,867-square-meter site located north of the Election Commission in Gunsang-ri, Jinan-eup. Jeonbuk Development Corporation will participate as the project operator, and the total project cost is 36.8 billion won.

The main plan includes the construction of a residential complex with a total of 611 households. Of these, 100 rental units and 490 for-sale units will be built on multi-family housing sites, while 21 units will be allocated for single-family homes. In addition, the project will expand living convenience facilities, including quasi-residential sites for commercial establishments, as well as roads and parking lots.

Since signing a business agreement with Jeonbuk Development Corporation in 2023, the county has been carrying out administrative procedures such as design services and development planning. Going forward, after obtaining the necessary permits and approvals, the project aims to break ground in the second half of 2027 and be completed by December 2029.

Residents who attended the session showed great interest in the land compensation process and housing sales plans. The county will continue to collect additional feedback from residents through its website until January 19, and plans to review and incorporate the suggestions into the final plan.

Jinan County Governor Jeon Chunseong stated, "The Wollang District is a key project to address the shortage of residential land in Jinan County and to promote population inflow. Through ongoing communication with residents, we will create a well-planned and pleasant premium residential complex, providing new growth momentum for Jinan."
