Badagames and Hope Studio Hold Donation Campaign
30 Gamers Participate in Speedrun Game Play
A Total of 1,454 Donations... All Proceeds to Support Children with Incurable Diseases
Smilegate Hope Studio announced on January 8 that, together with Badagames, it successfully concluded the 'Let's Go Hope! Hope Expedition 2026 Super Speedrun Marathon.'
This campaign was held on the Hope Studio donation platform from December 30 of last year to January 4 of this year to support the wishes of children with incurable diseases. The donation event, 'Super Speedrun Marathon 5,' was linked to live game play broadcasts, allowing viewers to participate in donations.
Hosted by Badagames, 'Super Speedrun Marathon 5' took place at All That Mind in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. A total of 30 gamers participated, speedrunning 57 different games including 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,' 'Diablo II: Resurrected,' and 'Stellar Blade.' Including viewers, a total of 1,454 people participated in the donation.
Hope Studio analyzed that a variety of easy payment methods through the platform, a simplified donation process, and gamification-based reward events that encouraged participation all contributed to the high level of engagement. The total amount raised was approximately 26 million won, all of which will be delivered to Make-A-Wish Korea to be used for various activities to fulfill the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of viewers for 'Super Speedrun Marathon 5,' which was broadcast live through the game streaming service Chzzzik, reached 83,394, with a total viewing time of 41,991 hours and a peak concurrent viewership of 943.
