Musinsa Opens First Sneaker Specialty Select Shop 'Musinsa KIX' in Hongdae

Musinsa announced on January 8 that it will officially open its first offline sneaker specialty select shop, "Musinsa KIX," in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on January 9.

Musinsa KIX is a space that reflects the roots and identity of Musinsa, which began in 2001 as a sneaker community called "A Place with an Abundance of Sneaker Photos." The store's name uses "Kicks," a term for sneakers among enthusiasts, to emphasize that it is a place to experience sneaker culture.

Located near Exit 9 of Hongik University Station on Line 2, "Musinsa KIX Hongdae" spans three floors above ground, covering a total area of 1,124 square meters (approximately 340 pyeong). The store differentiates itself from existing multi-brand shoe shops with a "Shoe Wall" that fills the walls with footwear.

The first floor features "Musinsa Run," a zone dedicated to running, introducing a wide lineup from daily running shoes to high-performance models. The second floor centers around "Next Outdoor," which curates outdoor and gorpcore items. On the third floor, the store showcases leather shoes such as loafers and boots, as well as popular sneakers from Musinsa's most notable rising brands.

To commemorate the grand opening, limited-edition sneakers will be released. On January 9, the opening day, the store will launch the "Uneffected x Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1," which sold out in just 10 minutes when released on Musinsa in November last year. On January 10, the limited edition "Vans LX Old Skool 36-Souvenir Warm Brown" will be released. Additionally, on January 9 only, the store will host a "Super Bag" event, offering randomly selected packages of popular products from participating brands for 49,900 won on a first-come, first-served basis.

Musinsa also plans to open additional KIX stores in major commercial districts such as Seongsu and Gangnam in Seoul within the first half of this year.

A Musinsa representative stated, "We hope that Musinsa KIX Hongdae, as a space that brings together Musinsa's authenticity, curation capabilities, and platform technology for footwear, will become a new landmark for shoe enthusiasts visiting Hongdae."
