Choi Youngil, Governor of Sunchang County, began his first steps of the new year together with residents on January 7, launching an on-site communication administration by visiting all 320 villages in the county as part of his fourth consecutive year of this initiative in the eighth term of local government.
According to Sunchang County, this year’s visits are being held under the theme “Ome! Wasso? Atta! Bangapne, Greo! Gomawo!” and are titled “Ome! Atta! Greo! Dialogue.” Governor Choi plans to visit every village hall and senior center over the next 20 days or so, until mid-February, to directly explore policy directions for the happiness of county residents.
This year, in particular, the schedule for each township has been improved based on the experiences of the past three years, with the aim of maximizing the time spent with residents. The county will explain changes in systems and key county administration issues that residents are curious about, and will also share in detail the status of handling a total of 802 suggestions received last year.
For basic infrastructure areas closely related to residents’ daily lives-such as transportation, roads, gas, and water and sewage systems-the county has established step-by-step implementation plans and will pursue ongoing improvements.
Governor Choi Youngil stated, “I hope that these village visits, true to their theme, will move beyond formalities and become a warm and friendly time for communication,” adding, “Every valuable opinion provided by each resident will be thoroughly reviewed, and we will check the progress on a quarterly basis.”
Meanwhile, Sunchang County plans to complete these village visits before the Lunar New Year holiday and will then continue with township tours to share the direction of county administration for 2026.
