Busan Port Authority Completes Hoan Embankment Project in Daegyo-dong
All 68 Mooring Facilities Managed by BPA Now Secured for Safety
The seismic performance reinforcement project for the coastal embankment area in Daegyo-dong, Busan Port, has been completed.
On January 7, Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced that it had completed the seismic performance reinforcement work for the Hoan embankment in Daegyo-dong, North Port of Busan. As a result, seismic performance has now been secured for all 68 mooring facilities managed by BPA within Busan Port.
The Hoan embankment in Daegyo-dong currently serves as a mooring facility for auxiliary vessels. To prevent construction delays caused by moored vessels within the project area, BPA secured berths at the Coastal Passenger Terminal as alternative mooring sites for auxiliary vessels, following prior consultation with the Auxiliary Vessel Association before commencing construction.
With the completion of seismic reinforcement for the Hoan embankment in Daegyo-dong, seismic performance has now been fully secured for all 68 mooring facilities, significantly enhancing the stability of port operations and disaster response capabilities.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "By completing the seismic reinforcement work for the embankment, we have established a solid safety foundation for all major facilities at Busan Port. We will continue to conduct regular safety inspections and improve facilities so that citizens can use port facilities with confidence."
