181 Successful Candidates Announced for Seoul Civil Servant Exam with 59-to-1 Competition Rate

131 for Grade 7, 23 for Grade 9, and Others Confirmed

The final list of 181 successful candidates for the Seoul Metropolitan Government civil servant exam, which had a competition rate of 59 to 1, has been confirmed.


On January 7, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the final 181 successful candidates for the "2025 2nd Seoul Metropolitan Government Local Civil Servant Recruitment Examination."

The final successful candidates were selected through a written exam held on November 1 last year, followed by interviews conducted over three days starting from December 17. The average competition rate was 58.8 to 1.


By rank, there were 131 candidates for Grade 7, 23 for Grade 9, and 27 for research and guidance positions. By job category, there were 71 administrative positions, 83 science and technology positions, and 27 research and guidance positions.


By age, those in their 20s accounted for the largest proportion at 46.4% (84 candidates), followed by those in their 30s at 33.2% (60 candidates), teenagers at 12.7% (23 candidates), and those aged 40 or older at 7.7% (14 candidates).


The youngest successful candidate was born in 2007 and was selected in the Grade 9 architecture (technical high school) recruitment unit. The oldest successful candidate was born in 1968 and was selected in the Grade 7 veterinary recruitment unit.


In the separate recruitment for people with disabilities and technical high school graduates (or expected graduates), 27 candidates, accounting for 14.9% of all successful applicants, passed. Specifically, 4 candidates passed the Grade 7 recruitment for people with disabilities, and 23 candidates passed the Grade 9 recruitment for technical high school graduates (or expected graduates).


The city plans to hold a total of two open recruitment exams this year. The first written exam is scheduled for June 20, and the second for October 31. Detailed schedules can be found on the Local Government Internet Application Center website.
