Acquired Employer Qualification Under Government-Accredited Corporate Qualification System
Operated for Over 3,800 SK Group Members
AI Utilization Based on Real Job Scenarios
SK AX announced on January 6 that its self-developed "AI Competency Certification Platform" has received employer qualification under the Government-Accredited Corporate Qualification System from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. This marks the first time in Korea's generative artificial intelligence (AI) sector that an AI competency certification system for internal employees has received government accreditation.
The Government-Accredited Corporate Qualification System is a framework in which the Human Resources Development Service of Korea comprehensively reviews and accredits job qualification systems operated by companies, granting them public credibility. SK AX received high marks for automating the entire process-from exam participation to scoring and evaluation-using AI, and for establishing a structure that verifies actual work performance capabilities.
Since early last year, SK AX has operated a generative AI competency certification platform and system for approximately 3,800 members of the SK Group. SK AX stated, "This certification system is significant because it has been recognized as a framework that systematically measures and verifies whether practitioners across various industries can effectively utilize generative AI."
SK AX's AI Competency Certification Platform goes beyond simply assessing whether someone has learned about AI; it verifies whether they can transform work using AI. The exams are designed to have participants solve problems using generative AI in real job scenarios such as business planning, software development, market research, and HR strategy. Evaluation is based on deliverables that are immediately applicable in the workplace, including reports, spreadsheets, source code, and diagrams.
The certification process is divided into two stages, with all phases-including training, practice, assessment, and scoring-conducted on an AI-based online platform, making it suitable for use in large organizations.
The first stage, "AI Literacy," verifies understanding of the basic principles of generative AI, prompt utilization, and the ability to apply AI in daily work. Employees participate in learning and testing through the online platform and are evaluated on their AI literacy and execution skills within real work contexts. The next stage, "AI Bootcamp," involves hands-on training such as developing systems based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and creating web and app solutions with AI functions. Participants directly design and develop AI agent services and have their deliverables evaluated.
Kim Minhwan, Head of HRX at SK AX, stated, "AI transformation is no longer limited to specific departments or experts; it requires the internalization of competencies and change management by all employees. This government accreditation means that SK AX's AI education and certification model, which has been validated in real industrial settings, has now gained public credibility. We will continue to advance the certification system so that it can become a standard model for companies pursuing AI transformation."
