Police: Year-End and New Year 112 Emergency Calls Down 2.1% Year-on-Year... "Community-Based Policing Activities"

During the special crime prevention period, the police established a collaborative system across all departments. On average per day, a total of 26,597 personnel were deployed in the field, including 20,175 local police officers, 1,118 members of the mobile patrol unit, 1,171 members of the police mobile unit, and 2,824 detectives.

Provincial and metropolitan police agencies and police stations across the country conducted community-based policing activities focused on areas vulnerable to crime and accidents. In addition, to protect socially disadvantaged groups-a recent public concern-and to prevent crimes involving the misuse of leaked personal information, the police conducted comprehensive inspections of victims of high-risk relationship crimes such as dating violence and stalking. Furthermore, efforts to prevent and respond to voice phishing were continuously strengthened, resulting in positive outcomes in crime prevention.

Yoo Jaeseong, Acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, stated, "We will continue to actively deploy available police resources to the field to safeguard the peaceful daily lives of citizens and will strive even harder to do so."
