Samhwa Paints Appoints Third-Generation Owner Kim Hyunjung as CEO

Samhwa Paints & Co., Ltd. has promoted Executive Vice President Kim Hyunjung to President and appointed her as the new CEO.

On January 5, Samhwa Paints held a board meeting and resolved this agenda, according to its public disclosure. The former CEO, Ryu Gibung, has resigned, and the company will transition to a co-CEO system with Bae Maengdal and Kim Hyunjung serving as individual representatives.

CEO Kim, the eldest daughter of the late Chairman Kim Jangyeon, is a management expert with professional experience in both accounting and law. Born in 1985, she graduated from Korea University, passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 2012, and earned her law degree from Hanyang University Law School before obtaining her attorney qualification in 2018.

Since joining Samhwa Paints in 2019, she has served as Head of Global Strategy Support and Head of Management Support, overseeing overseas business, procurement, and finance.

A company official stated, "CEO Kim has demonstrated outstanding capabilities in both overseas business and overall management support," adding, "We expect her to play a key role in transforming the company into a global comprehensive chemical enterprise beyond the domestic market."
