Siheung City Implements Organizational Restructuring, Establishes "Gender Equality and Family Bureau"

On January 5, Siheung City announced that it had implemented an organizational restructuring to respond to the changing administrative environment, which includes the creation of the Gender Equality and Family Bureau, the Investment Attraction Officer, the Integrated Care Division, and the Labor Support Division-one bureau, one officer, and two divisions newly established as of this date.

With this reorganization, the newly established Gender Equality and Family Bureau, separated from the existing Welfare Bureau, will oversee the Gender Equality Policy Division, Child Care Division, Youth and Adolescent Division, and the Division for Residents with Migration Backgrounds. Through this, the city plans to strengthen universal welfare policies throughout the life cycle by implementing inclusive welfare administration that encompasses gender, generation, and family structure.

In response to the Care Integration Support Act, scheduled to take effect in March, the city has also established the Integrated Care Division, which will oversee local care policies. The Integrated Care Division will focus on building an integrated support system that connects healthcare and care services, as well as addressing welfare blind spots.

In the economic and industrial sectors, the city has created the Investment Attraction Officer position to be responsible for customized investment attraction centered on strategic industries, post-investment management, responding to public project bids, and attracting private capital.

The Labor Support Division will work to systematically promote policies such as labor rights protection, labor-management cooperation, support for vulnerable workers, and enhancement of industrial safety, thereby improving the labor environment with a field-oriented approach.

Additionally, the city has established the AI Advanced Industry Team to foster advanced industries such as artificial intelligence, the Basic Society Team to oversee population structure changes and sustainable development policies, the Corporate Innovation Team to support AI transformation (AX) and digital transformation (DX) of local manufacturing, and the Maintenance Planning Team to develop renovation plans for aging residential areas. These measures aim to further strengthen future responsiveness and the professionalism of administrative services.

Siheung City Mayor Lim Byeongtaek stated, "This organizational restructuring is a strategic measure to proactively respond to the new government's policy direction and the changing administrative environment," adding, "We will continue to realize tangible administrative services that citizens can feel, with inclusion and innovation as our core values, in line with changes in government policy."
