Mayor Jin Gyohun Attends Sunrise Event at Gaehwasan Mountain in Gangseo District

About 3,000 Residents Attend, AI New Year's Fortune Experience Held
"We Will Build a Gangseo That Leaps Forward"

Jin Gyohun, Mayor of Gangseo District in Seoul, began the first day of the New Year on January 1 by joining residents at the Gaehwasan Sunrise event. Throughout the venue, Mayor Jin greeted residents with New Year's wishes and struck a large drum to pray for the well-being of Gangseo District residents.

Mayor Jin stated, "I would like to express my respect and gratitude to all Gangseo District residents who have joined us on the journey of development and change over the past year." He added, "In the Year of the Red Horse, which symbolizes tireless passion, challenge, and progress, I hope that all Gangseo residents will move forward vigorously throughout the year." He continued, "Together with the residents, we will build a Gangseo that leaps forward, creating a city of mutual prosperity where no neighbors are left behind and everyone is happy."


On this day, the summit of Gaehwasan Mountain was crowded with about 3,000 residents who came to witness the first sunrise of the New Year. Before the official ceremony, there were poetry recitations by the Literary Association and a traditional Korean music parade by the Korean Traditional Music Association. At the event site, there were also experiential programs where artificial intelligence was used to provide New Year's fortunes and create photo souvenirs of New Year wishes.
